A lengthy lecture on Quick QuickTopics.

Sindhu emailed me to say that she'd like to be the administrator of the Gupta Gabfest and I'm posting a reply here in case you (yes, you!) would like to do that too or start another discussion page. First of all, just so you know, anyone can be an administrator without asking me.

If you've never signed up with QT, go here and sign up. If you already have a password, go to where the page says "click here to sign in" and then sign in. After signing in you'll see the message, "Start a new topic or document review below, or list your topics above." Take it from there.

One of the cool things you can do with QT pages is changing the name of your discussion space. I did that and now the former "Gupta Gabfest" is known as "InfoHunk Infatuation." It's also closed now. Unlike some news networks, I don't go around thinking that I've copyrighted certain words in the English language, so feel free to make a page and call it "Gupta Gabfest" if it makes you happy. :)

Two more things. As QuickTopic explains, the page can be relatively private if you keep it that way and public if you want by linking it the way I did on the right column of this blogspot (or on your own site). Also, if you'd like to link a specific message on a Quick Topic page, you can do so like this: http://www.quicktopic.com/22/H/9m7XQ8Ea77kD/m478 The "m478" part of that link is the message number and lets the link take you directly to that message.

Well, I hope some of this was helpful and not just me droning on and on, but if it was, tough toasties for you. It's my blogspot and I'll drone if I want to. :)

P.S. I have no idea how to make the old "Gupta Gabfest" page be in someone else's name. That's why the focus of this post is how to start your own. If there's a way to transfer administrator status, QT is doing a good job of hiding it from me.

Posting pause.

Just for a little while (maybe a day or two update: or three or four), guest posters will not be able to log in. I apologize for the inconvenience, but it's my way of making sure that everything you've ever posted here gets transferred over to the new location. More details later, of course.
